Volunteer Family Advocates

Are you interested in volunteering with Doras Luimní as a Volunteer Family Advocate?

volunteers-neededWe are currently accepting applications from interested individuals in Limerick who have experience working in the community, supporting people from a migrant background to access services and information.

Volunteers will need to be available for 1 to 2 hours per week for a 6 month period.

  • Role Title: Volunteer Family Advocates
  • Reporting to: Resettlement Support Worker, Doras Luimní
  • Hours of work: 1 – 2 hours per week for a 6 month period
  • Objective: The overall objective of the family advocacy programme is to give additional support to refugee families who have recently arrived in Limerick, ultimately aiding the integration process.

Volunteer family advocates will be guided by the Resettlement Support Worker and will receive training and regular supervision.

Please download and complete the Doras Luimní Volunteer Application Form and return by email to m.fallon@dorasluimni.org or by post to Monika Fallon, Doras Luimní, 51a O’Connell Street, Limerick.

We urge all interested applicants to submit applications for this role as soon as possible, ideally by end of July or early August 2017. Recruitment will close only when all families are matched with suitable volunteers.
