Integration and Non-Discrimination

Doras promotes integration, diversity, and equality, enabling migrants' participation in society. We collaborate with stakeholders to shape policies and empower communities for positive integration experiences in Ireland.

As an organisation, we promote integration and inclusion through approaches that respect and value diversity and aim to afford equal rights and opportunities to everyone by creating conditions that enable the full and active participation of every member of society.

Enabling migrants’ participation in the economic, social, cultural, and political life of its host society is a fundamental part of what we do. This includes empowering and supporting host communities to be inclusive, engaging with employers, and supporting public bodies to uphold their duties under the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty. In doing so we aim to promote equality, prevent discrimination, and protect the human rights of employees, customers, service users and everyone affected by their policies and actions.

Doras work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders locally, nationally, and internationally to inform integration and anti-racism policy development through our active participation in the Migrant Integration Steering Group, Irish Network Against Racism and the Coalition Against Hate Crime.

We implement initiatives that empower people and foster positive integration experiences in local communities across Ireland. We also deliver intercultural awareness training to service providers and community organisations to build capacity and improve service provision at local and national level.
