Important Information for Ukrainians: Apply before September 11

The Irish Government is phasing out State-provided accommodation for Ukrainian Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection who are currently living in State-contracted accommodation.

However, some people who are in particularly vulnerable circumstances may be eligible to apply for continued State accommodation. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on individual circumstances, need and availability.

Who may be eligible?

You may be able to apply if you:

• are a Beneficiary of Temporary Protection;
• are currently living in Ukraine Crisis Temporary Accommodation (UCTAT); and
• have serious difficulties living independently.

You must also meet certain criteria. These include receiving certain social welfare payments, having a significant medical condition, or having made extensive efforts to find alternative accommodation but being unable to do so and needing short-term emergency accommodation.

Important: apply before 11 September

Applications are currently open from 4 August until 11 September 2026.

If you believe you may meet the criteria and genuinely need continued accommodation, we strongly recommend that you apply before the deadline.

You will need to provide supporting documents relevant to your circumstances. These may include evidence of social welfare payments, employment, or medical evidence. Only one application should be submitted for each household/family unit.

Submitting an application does not guarantee that accommodation will be provided. Applications will be assessed according to need, demand and availability.
