Accommodation

Doras are not in a position to source accommodation directly. We recommend exploring the following options:

  • Property websites: Daft.ie and local letting agencies.
  • Social media: Reach out through your personal networks and community groups, such as Facebook.

While we cannot provide emergency accommodation or financial support, we can:

  • Help you navigate the housing and social welfare system
  • Make representations to Homeless Action Teams and service providers
  • Assist with Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) applications
  • Signpost and refer you to relevant services
  • Assist with dispute resolution, including RTB engagement
  • Refer you to the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) for help with deposits

For accommodation-specific queries, email us at: accomwelfare@doras.org

  • If you are currently experiencing homelessness, please reach out to your local authority homeless action team for assistance.
  • Novas may also be able to provide practical supports such as sleeping bags or tents.

For further information about housing rights and entitlements, you can also contact your local Citizens Information Centre.

As of 2025, employed asylum seekers may be required to contribute financially towards their accommodation and services.

The proposed weekly charge ranges from €15 to €268, depending on your income.
