Fair Work Standards

Doras implemented the Fair Work Standards Limerick campaign from mid 2015 to end of 2016. Archived information below:

FWS Limerick editFair Work Standards Limerick is a campaign that promotes work place rights. The campaign is an opportunity for local workers to learn about their basic rights and entitlements under Irish employment law.

The campaign aims to promote fairness at work for all workers, regardless of their type of employment. Every employee has a right to fair and decent work and to have his/her dignity respected at all times.

A further aim of this campaign is to identify and acknowledge workplaces that already engage in fair work practices.

A key objective of the campaign is to raise awareness of workplace rights and to prevent labour exploitation among employees in low-paid work in Limerick. The campaign is promoting fair working conditions that allow decent work and career progression. We aim to do this through engagement with civil society (employers, workers, the Chamber of Commerce, local authorities, trade unions and the general public) and by asking employees to nominate their employers for ‘Fair Places to Work in Limerick’ recognition.

What Fair Work measurement tools do we use?

A set of minimum obligations and expectations for employers as stipulated by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
