Africa Day is marked on Monday 25th May, with events running until 31st May in Limerick.
This year, Africa Day will be launched by special guest Sharon Murphy (The Voice UK) who will host an interactive seminar with speakers from the local African community and Irish Aid in the Strand Hotel from 2 – 5pm on 25th May.
On Tuesday 26th May, an ethno-modern dance performance featuring Ras Mikey will take place in UL Tower Theatre at 7pm. The performance is entitled Yebunna Alem/ A Coffee World.
A drumming and arts workshop for schools will be hosted by Watch House Cross Community Library on Thursday 28th May from 10:30am – 12:30pm.
The final event concluding Africa Day celebrations is a family-fun day in the Milk Market on Sunday 31st May from 2 – 6pm, with food, music, dancing and a fashion show.
