Each year on 20th November, we mark Universal Children’s Day – the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child – which is an international initiative by the United Nations that aims to raise awareness of ongoing #ChildRights issues in Ireland and worldwide.

Doras uses this opportunity to highlight the ongoing concerns we have about children living in Direct Provision in Ireland. In 2018, more than 1,500 children continue to live in unsuitable conditions in Direct Provision centres across the country.
